ABOUT Martin

MAAV is Martin AAmand Vallin.

Born and raised on the border of sweden and denmark I got the best of to great design worlds, the traditional danish design and the rational swedish approach. With a background in film, tv and advertisement I have learnt to appreciate the good story as a working tool. Still living in Malmo, Sweden I take the bridge to Denmark every day and I have just graduated from the Danish Design School in Copenhagen with a Master in Furniture & Spacial Design.
I have been picked as a representative of the school to exhibit at the Stockholm Furniture Fair the last three years with different furniture's. But the absolute biggest thing in my carrier was when Giulio Cappellini ask me to join Cappellini in Milan 2010! It was the breakthrough I had been dreaming about.
As a designer I am constantly evolving and learning new things, I keep an open mind and try to twist and combine ideas in a childlike way too get new and interesting results. Everything can be an inspiration in my quest to give my projects that extra spark, to give them life, then the user gives it its soul.
After graduation I have some interesting project on the way and am always looking for new challenges.
